The auditorium at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology was buzzing with community and guest attendees on the opening day of KAUST Research Open Week (KROW), a week-long showcase of science and engineering presentations, demonstrations and discussions sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research, on the theme of Sustainability: Science for the Future.
In a video interview, VPR Dr. Donal Bradley spoke about the reasons why KROW is timely and significant for the KAUST community and partners in the Kingdom to experience this showcase of science and engineering research.
"We have purposely chosen the theme Sustainability: Science for the Future to provide a positive outlook on our future post-pandemic world that resonates across KAUST's focus areas of Energy, Environment, Water, Food & Health, and the Digital domain," Bradley said. "We have many partnerships and projects that involve direct collaborations with our colleagues in the Kingdom, and KROW is a great opportunity to network with university leaders, faculty and students and learn about the wide range of research activities in development across the university."
